So, I've been extremely quiet lately, pretty much because life has sucked. Work and home life. Whoopee!

I've mostly been hibernating, playing Assassin's Creed (which I surprisingly love) and hanging out at tumblr, which requires 0% effort and is so easy to find fangirly content on.

Hi there, LJ!

I know I haven't been interacting on here much lately, and that's due to the fact that I did my back in! I was doing the vacuuming - something I've done 213575232 times before - when something in my back went. CUE OWIES. The worst part: sitting down made the pain worse.

I COULDN'T SIT AT A COMPUTER FOR OVER A WEEK D: D: D:

I couldn't spend any decent amount of time on LJ, or just on the internet in general. Thus, I was forced to play on my PS3 standing up to pass the time ;D Luckily, I was off work. I returned today and my back held up quite well (it's so much better than it was omg. I was literally sobbing at my sister, how do you live like this all the time??? Gives me a new perspective on what she goes through all the damn time. Sister update: they won't operate :-\).

Anyway, the main point of this post is to say that if you have a PS3 or can get access to one, YOU NEED TO PLAY JOURNEY ASAP!!!!!!!!

Everything about this game is amazing - the way it looks, the music, the way it makes you feel. Best of all for me, if you play online, you may well be paired up with another player - but you have no way of speaking or typing to each other. It's up to you if you help each other (you won't see any other characters throughout the game) but it is so much better for it if you do. I love, love, love the anonymity and the kindness you instinctively show to others, and you have no idea who you were working with until the very end of the game, where it tells you the usernames of any players you came into contact with.

The game is not particularly long and only available on download, but for £9.99 it is well worth the price. I've played it through six times already and know I will go back countless more times.

I CANNOT RECOMMEND IT HIGHLY ENOUGH! ALSO: I NEED MORE GAMES LIKE THIS.

I'm not a fan of shooting games. Although I do like Uncharted, which is basically Tomb Raider on steroids. Also: CLAUDIA BLACK.

When Real Lives and Fannish Lives Collide!

For work-reasons I had to take my laptop into work today. I was super paranoid and deleted off anything even slightly porny or potentially illegal (i.e., just about everything), but I kept my desktop background pic of one Misha Collins guest starring on Ringer (NOM). This happened:

Period Dramas/Comedies

I've been on a period drama binge this last week and a half. No idea why, but I've re-watched so many of my DVDs. So! Here are my random thoughts on them.

Warning: I am not an Austen purist. I've read the books, but I don't mind if adaptations make changes and judge them on their own merit. Sometimes I'm glad of the changes!

Now we have to jump forward a century or so ;)

That's it for now. I still have Persuasion ('95), North & South (BBC), Middlemarch and Emma ('96 and '09) to re-watch. I'm even going to put myself through Billie Piper's Mansfield Park, even remembering how horrible it was ;D I might skip P&P ('95 and '05) and Sense & Sensibility ('95 and '08) because I've re-watched them all recently - just not as recently as the last two weeks ;) I've ordered a few other period dramas/romances I haven't seen, but if you have any recs, please go for it! Happy ending much preferred. I couldn't get through The Tenant of Wildfell Hall. OMG, the angst! Some angst is fine. Cannot handle huge amounts!
